VITO CLEMENTE is the winner of IX Competition for Orchestra Conductors of the European Community Franco Capuana with Manon Lescaut by Puccini.

He won the first prize Mitsubishi UFJ Trust with Maria Stuarda by Donizetti as “the best production of the year 2012” in Japan.

Don Pasquale in San Paolo - with director Enzo Dara - won the first prize as “the best production of 2010” in the State.

He earned an honors degree in Orchestral Conducting, Composition, Piano, Vocal Chamber Music, Band Instrumentation, Choral Music and a University Degree in Musical Discipline.

Nowadays, Clemente is Artistic and Musical Director of Traetta Opera Festival, AMIFest, and Japan Apulia Festival of Tokyo. Società dei Concerti Traetta of Tokyo, Tokyo Academy of Music, Idea Press Musical Editions USA of New York – musical section. He is the artistic consultant di Tokyo Musica Association.

He was musical director of Teatro della Fortuna (Fano) and of the Lucanian Symphony Orchestra.

 

Teacher at the Conservatory “Nino Rota” (Monopoli), he is winner of four competitions for teacher’s posts and winner of national and international competitions and scholarships.

 

Clemente conducted “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” at the Teatro Petruzzelli for Fondazione Lirico Sinfonica Petruzzelli e Teatri di Bari in the first season - 2009/2010 - of the Theater after the fire that destroyed it, and inaugurated some operistic seasons: 2007/2008 (“Il Barbiere di Siviglia”) and 2010/2011 (“Cavalleria Rusticana”/”Il Tabarro”) of Ente Autonomo Regionale Teatro di Messina, 2003, 2005, 2006 of Teatro Lirico Sperimentale di Spoleto (“La Traviata”, “Oberto, “Conte di San Bonifacio”, “Il Barbiere di Siviglia”) and Bergamo Musical Festival 2009 (“Linda di Chamounix”).

 

He conducted in 2007, in 2008 and in 2015 concert “2 agosto” of International Competition for Composers for Radio3 and RAI 3, RAI 5 contemporary music (Antonioni, Colla, Corghi, Ferrero, Festa…) and performances for pope John Paul II and the President of Italian Republic, Oscar Luigi Scalfaro.

The dvd “Le convenienze e le inconvenienze teatrali” by Donizetti (Bongiovanni) won the third prize in 2010 (XXXI Premio della Critica Musica e dischi sezione classica/vocale) and was chosen as “the best dvd of the month” (***** for Classic Voice) and “Seleccion” for Opera Actual.
